It is my complete and utter pleasure to introduce you to…Cyboo!
Cyboo, the cybersecurity ghost from Infinity is just about the cutest thing EVER, don’t you think?!
He’s more than just looks though. Cyboo is here to help us. He’s here to show us that cybersecurity doesn’t have to be scary.
He’s going to be our frightfully friendly guide throughout the month of October, which just happens to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
Speaking of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which Infinity is once again a Champion of, did you know that this year is the 20th anniversary of it? That’s right, 20 years of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) trying to raise awareness of businesses and individuals about how to protect their information from digital crimes.
And in honor of this milestone, they’ve revealed a brand new theme that will not only apply to this year but to future years as well. It’s “Secure Our World” as you can see here.
The thinking behind it is that as we become more dependent on technology, it’s more important than ever to strengthen and adapt our cybersecurity habits. And it’s a responsibility that belongs to everyone. Not just people in the security industry or lawmakers or big enterprise leaders; everyone. You, me, your neighbor, your coworker, your boss, her hairdresser…everyone.
And to help us all do this, they’ve given us 4 key cybersecurity steps we can take. These behaviors are simple and actionable for both individuals and businesses:
- Create Strong Passwords and Use a Password Manager
- Turn on Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Recognize and Report Phishing
- Update Your Software
Like they said, easy, right?
And Cyboo is here to make it even easier!
He’ll share hauntingly helpful tips all October to protect your personal information, and he’ll offer ways to make your business spookily secure, too. And if he does a good job, maybe we’ll keep him around longer.
My hope is that you’ll come to love Cyboo half as much as I do…or that at least you’ll listen to his eerily wise advice.
Look for him on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, and register for a special Cybersecurity Awareness Month webinar, too.
Wednesday, October 25th 12:00-1:00pm
Stay safe! And think before you click.
